Abstract
This study aimed to uncover trends towards tourism development in the island by identifying by knowing the vision of the Ministry of Tourism and its plans. It analyzed the local residents’ attitudes, and identifying the challenges they may face, and the mechanisms that help to address them. The study was based on the descriptive and analytical approach. Three research tools were used. First, analysis of the electronic executive summary of Oman Tourism Strategy 2016-2020. Second, a questionnaire to collect data from the sample of local population numbering (358). Third, an interview guide administered with official leadership in some government departments on the Island and with specialists in the Ministry of Tourism. The study has come out with several results, the most important of which is that the Ministry of Tourism is determined to develop the tourism sector in Masi rah. The results indicated that there are positive trends towards tourism development. Among the challenges facing the tourism in the Island is the intense pressure on public services and support for tourism activity and lack of tourism services. The study highlights a set of mechanisms. Most importantly: the establishment of the bridge linking Masara/Shnnah. There is also service, leisure facilities, and increasing hotel apartments and resorts.

التنمية السياحية والمجتمعات المحلية في سلطنة عُُمان: دراسة ميدانية لاتجاهات السكان المحليين في جزيرة مصيرة

سعت هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف على اتجاهات التنمية السياحية في الجزيرة، من خلال معرفة رؤية وزارة السياحة وخططها، والكشف عن اتجاهات السكان المحليين، والإلمام بالتحديات التي قد تواجهها، والآليات التي تساعد على تحقيقها. اعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، وتم استخدام 3 أدوات بحثية هي: تحليل الملخص الالكتروني للاستراتيجية العمانية للسياحة 2016 - 2020 م، وأداة الاستبانة لجمع البيانات من عينة السكان المحليين البالغ عددها ) 358 (. ودليلين للمقابلة، أحدهما للقيادات الرسمية في بعض الدوائر الحكومية في جزيرة مصيرة والآخر للمختصين بوزارة السياحة. توصلت الدراسة إلى نتائج أهمها: وزارة السياحة عازمة على تطوير قطاع السياحة في جزيرة مصيرة، وأشارت النتائج إلى وجود اتجاهات ايجابية نحو التنمية السياحية، ومن التحديات التي تواجه التنمية السياحية في جزيرة مصيرة الضغط على الخدمات العامة والمساندة للنشاط السياحي وافتقارها للخدمات السياحية، وأبرزت الدراسة مجموعة من الآليات أهمها: إنشاء الجسر الذي يربط مصيرة بشنة، وانشاء مرافق خدمية وترفيهية، وزيادة شقق ومنتجعات فندقية.
