Abstract

This study aims to highlight the civilizational role of Omani women in the political, social and cultural fields during the Ya’aruba era, extending from the election of Nasser bin Murshid Al-Ya’arubi as Imam of Oman in 1034 AH/1624 AD until the death of Imam Sultan bin Murshid Al-Ya’arubi in the Battle of Sohar against the Persians in 1156 AH/1743 AD. The study employed the historical research method by tracking the role and presence of women in historical and jurisprudential sources, as well as the descriptive-analytical method to examine this role and analyze its impact on the political, social, and cultural aspects of life. The study reached several key findings. Most notably, it found that Omani women participated in political life through both direct and indirect forms of engagement. Their contributions to the social sphere were reflected in promoting social solidarity, serving public utilities, and contributing to social endowments. Their cultural contributions included a strong commitment to education, purchasing and scribing books, the provision of endowments to students and schools, and the founding of libraries.

الملخص

تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى إبراز الدور الحضاري للمرأة العمانية في المجالات السياسية والاجتماعية والثقافية خلال عهد اليعاربة الممتد منذ انتخاب ناصر بن مرشد اليعربي إماماًً على عمان عام 1034 ه/ 1624 م وحتى مقتل الإمام سلطان بن مرشد اليعربي في معركة صحار ضد الفرس عام 1156 ه/ 1743 م، وذلك من خلال اتباع منهج البحث التاريخي المتمثل في تتبع دور المرأة وحضورها في المصادر التاريخية والفقهية، والمنهج الوصفي التحليلي المتمثل في تناول ذلك الدور وتحليل الآثار المترتبة عليه في جوانب الحياة السياسية والاجتماعية والثقافية؛ وقد خلصت الدراسة إلى عدة نتائج من أبرزها أن المشاركة السياسية للمرأة جاءت بشكل مباشر وغير مباشر، كما تمثل إسهام المرأة العمانية في الجوانب الاجتماعية من خلال التكافل الاجتماعي وخدمة المرافق العامة إلى جانب الإسهام في الوقف الاجتماعي، في حين جاء إسهامها الثقافي من خلال اهتمامها بالتعليم وشراء الكتب ونسخها، وحبس الأوقاف لطلبة العلم والمدارس ، إضافة إلى تأسيس المكتبات وخزائن الكتب.
