Abstract

The current study aims to identify the level of knowledge of Sultan Qaboos University students about Oman Vision 2040. The study also aims to reveal their attitudes towards the future of the country in light of the implementation of Oman Vision 2040. To achieve the aim of the study, the descriptive approach was used. To collect data for the study, two tools were used. The first tool was a knowledge test, to measure the level of knowledge of the students of Sultan Qaboos University about the Oman Vision 2040. The second tool was an attitude scale to measure the direction of the students of Sultan Qaboos University towards the future of the country considering the implementation of the Oman Vision 2040. After the validity and reliability of the tools were verified, the study was applied to a sample of 243 male and female students. The results of the study indicated that the students’ knowledge of the Oman Vision 2040 ranged from moderate to weak. The results of the study also indicated that university students’ attitudes towards the future of the country considering the implementation of the vision Oman 2040 was high, and the results of the study also indicated that there are no statistically significant differences at the significance level (0.05α) due to the variables of gender, type of college, and years of study. Considering the findings of the study, the researchers recommend the importance of strengthening academic curricula with the goals and priorities of Oman 2040 Vision. Holding seminars and conferences that promote the goals and priorities of Oman Vision 2040 and encouraging students to participate and attend them.

تهدف الدراسة الحالية إلى استقصاء مستوى معرفة طلبة جامعة السلطان قابوس برؤية عمان 2040 ، بالإضافة إلى استكشاف اتجاهاتهم نحو مستقبل البلاد في ظل تنفيذ هذه الرؤية. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة، اعتُُمد المنهج الوصفي، واستُُخدمت أداتان لجمع البيانات. تمثلت الأداة الأولى في اختبار لقياس مدى معرفة طلبة جامعة السلطان قابوس برؤية عمان 2040 ، أما الأداة الثانية فكانت مقياسًًا لقياس اتجاهاتهم نحو مستقبل البلاد في ظل تنفيذ الرؤية. وبعد التحقق من صدق الأدوات وثباتها، طُُبِِّقت الدراسة على عينة مكونة من 243 طالبًًا وطالبة. وأظهرت النتائج أن مستوى معرفة الطلبة برؤية عمان 2040 يتراوح بين المتوسط والضعيف، في حين كانت اتجاهاتهم نحو مستقبل البلاد في ظل هذه الرؤية عالية. كما أظهرت الدراسة عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى الدلالة ( 0,05α ) تُُعزى إلى متغيرات الجنس ونوع الكلية وسنوات الدراسة. وفي ضوء هذه النتائج، يوصي الباحثون بضرورة تعزيز المقررات الدراسية بأهداف وأولويات رؤية عمان 2040 ، وتنظيم الندوات والمؤتمرات التي تروج لهذه الرؤية، وتشجيع الطلبة على المشاركة فيها.
